Desecration Demon doesn't do anything other than attack, you already have Demigod for that. Lotleth Troll is a poor way of getting cards into your grave, since you can only pitch creatures, at least Fauna Shaman gets more creatures. You don't need 2 Shadowborn Demon, having only one for when you need it is fine, there isn't much you really want to kill. I would recommend cutting Mana Leak, 1 Shadowborn Demon, 2 Lotleth Troll, 2 Desecration Demon, and 1 Craterhoof Behemoth.
This deck wants to max out of Life from the Loam and Stinkweed Imp, since those are clearly the best ways to get lots of cards into your grave. Having the "fair" black midrange deck part seems really bad, and only clogs up the "unfair" portion of the deck from doing what it wants to do. This deck wants to focus on getting a bunch of fatties into play in some form or another. It also makes the mana easier, since it's your only blue. Holding up mana for a counter spell is not something you wanna be doing. It's not cute, it's not gonna help the control match, it's a bad card in this deck. Otherwise, it does not need to be a 4 of, since it won't do anything on turn 2 when it can't make mana.Ĭut the Mana Leak. Honestly, add fetchlands and Deathrite Shaman would be great. Loam helps you hit land drops, and is what the deck wants to be doing, but you want to be able to hit your land drops if you don't have Loam.ĭeathrite Shaman is not what the deck wants to being doing when the deck doesn't run fetch lands. Not even close, you need to be running somewhere around 23. Heads up, I'm typing this at 2 am, so I may or may not have to edit this post in the morning.ġ7 lands is bad. Not every deck makes it as easy as Affinity to target their plan of attack with removal.
#DEMIGOD OF REVENGE MODERN HOW TO#
Maybe try to figure out how to beat Leyline of the Void, enchantments in general, or other graveyard based strategies. You need to figure out a SB still, but I gotta let you do SOME of the work, don't I?Įdit: You focus pretty hard on creature removal in your deck. This is a rough draft, but that's where I'd start.
Put all this together, and you end up with something like this. Best removal spell in the format and all. But since we're playing white anyway, I'd definitely play 4 Path. We need to make that work, but that doesn't mean we're obligated to play Lingering Souls. I forgot we want to flashback Unburial Rites. While we're at it, you should probably play some filter lands in there to help with the cost of Demigod, since you want to cast it, not reanimate it. Your mana will be iffy enough trying to assembly quintuple B. You don't need Lingering Souls really, and the one Path in the SB isn't going to win you any games I'd wager. Life from the Loam seems out of place too, considering that.ĭrop the white. The others pointed this out already, but DRS without fetches is a no-no. Like others said, drop the blue or play Gifts, I'd advise playing Gifts if you can make the mana work because it gives you EOT drop two Demigods into the yard, untap, play one, attack for 15. Move up to four Fauna Shaman if you want to have any chance at assembling that combo. I don't think you went deep enough if your main plan is to reanimate Demigod.
